Xavier aptitude test (XAT) is a national level MBA entrance exam. It is conducted by Xavier School of Management, Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI) – Jamshedpur and XLR I conducts the exam on behalf of Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI).
XAT score is considered for admission in more than 800 institutes for admission to MBA, PGDM and other management courses such as business management, human resource management etc. their application forms are available from August each year. The eligibility criteria are as there is no age bar to appear in XAT. Students must have bachelor’s degree with minimum 3 years duration or equivalent in any discipline or candidate pursuing a final degree can also appear for this exam.
The exam pattern includes 4 sections in XAT exam are Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning; Decision Making; and Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation; and General Knowledge The 1st part in XAT paper is responsible for the calculation of XAT percentile score and XAT merit list. And Part 2 in XAT question paper consists of General Awareness and Essay Writing in XAT exam. These 2 sections in XAT exam are equally important although at the first stage they will not be counted for arriving at the percentile score. Except for the Essay Writing section, the other 4 sections in XAT question paper contain Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) while Essay Writing in XAT is of descriptive nature. The examination is conducted online and total duration both the paper is 205 minutes.
