Please find attached corporate financial management MBA project on analysis of companies in pharmaceutical industry.The project report will analyse the five companies in pharmaceutical industry.
Introduction
As part of the project we have taken 5 companies for analysis:
1. DR Reddy
2. Glenmark
3. CIPLA
4. Sun Pharma
5. Lupin
The date range for Stock Price for the study and BSE Sensex are 31-March-2015 to 31-March-2016.
Analysis
If we look at the pharmaceutical industry, we see that the firms usually trade at a high Price/Earnings ratio when compared to others in the industry. This is majorly because majority of the expenses that the pharmaceuticals companies incur are of the research and development type, and usually are expensed immediately. This means that the company pays the cost of developing a drug years before the drug starts to produce revenue.We majorly tried to see how the Beta of these companies varies with respect to the BSE Sensex.
